Proofreading and Editing

I use the comment function in Word when proofreading. The client will be able to see what changes I have suggested. Depending on the client's personal preference, I can make those changes or the client can. When I proofread I analyze grammar, punctuation, spelling, sentence structure, flow, continuity and organization. If asked, I will also provide creative input.

Query Letters

Query letters are used to convince an editor at a publishing house or magazine that what you've written is worth publishing and that there is a market for your work. There are specific points that need to be addressed in a query letter. If they like the query, they'll ask you to send the article, sample chapters or a book proposal for their review. I have done quite a few of these and have experienced good results.

Resume Creation

Because employers are usually inundated with tasks associated with trying to fill a position, they don't have time to scan cluttered multi-page resumes. Based on the client's skills, education and experience, I will craft a resume tailored to show the client's strongest points first, while maintaining a simplistic stance.

Candidate Portfolios for Job Seekers

Sometimes more than just a simple resume is required. Like a writer uses a Book Proposal to sell their written work, a job seeker sometimes needs a Candidate Portfolio to sell their skills to a potential employer. Depending on what type of position you are applying for, a Candidate Portfolio might be just what you need to outshine other applicants. A Candidate Portfolio can consist of: a cover page, cover letter, resume, references, salary history, recommendation letters, certificates, awards and diplomas. Put together in an attractive folder, this portfolio will indicate to the employer that you are a polished professional ready and able to take on a new challenge.

PowerPoint Slide Presentations

When designing a slide presentation, creative writing and a splash of color can be immensely helpful. Clip Art or personal photos will add depth and clarity to the message you are trying to convey to your audience.

Flyers for your Club or Event

Created in MS Word or PowerPoint. I always incorporate Clip Art for added flair.

Research

I use a variety of search engines and the library at Oregon State University. I will compile a report, cite sources and present my findings to the client.

I am registered with the Secretary of State's Office in the State of Oregon as a Notary Public. Notary services available in the Willamette Valley; Oregon only. Travel fee will apply.
